December 4 - Thursday - 6:00 PM - Manasota Mensa: First Thursday Monthly Gathering at O’Leary's - FREE - This is an informal gathering of Mensa members. You can purchase drinks and snacks at the open-air restaurant with beach seating. We encourage drop-ins. Look for a sign or balloon on our table. December 13 - Saturday - 7:00 PM - Palm Beach Area Mensa: Is 2025 already ending its short sojourn on planet Earth? Yes, and it's time to celebrate whatever's positive and fun in your life. You are invited to this annual Winter Solstice / Holiday Party on Saturday, December 13. Add to the celebration by bringing a holiday dish -- appetizer, dessert or main dish -- AND a $20 value, wrapped, unisex gift to participate in the White Elephant, Yankee Swap, or whatever-we-call-it Gift Exchange. In the past edibles have included: KF chicken, quiche, naked ziti, veggie trays, shrimp ring, festive cookies, cake, candy, eggnog, sangria, etc. What's provided: all soft goods -- plates, napkins, forks -- and soft drinks such as soda, juice, and water and small sandwiches. RSVP, that means tell Elissa you are attending and what you are bringing, by emailing elissa12@bellsouth.net, by December 12. Step into the warm, laid-back vibe of Back Home Restaurant & Bar--where great food, cold drinks, and good company come together. From crave-worthy comfort dishes to an ice-cold beer or cocktail in hand, every visit feels like coming home (from their website). This location is an old favorite and Grandma still works there! The menu lists many of her dishes: Grandma's Chicken Soup, Grandma's Meatloaf, Grandma's Bolognese, Grandma's Breaded Chicken, Granny's White Crème Pasta, and lots more.
